Economic Benefits Missouri Local Produce

Agricultural activities taking place in different parts of the world has led growth in their economy, agriculture is the highest contributor to the GDP. Some of the Missouri local produce include cabbages chard beetroots, carrots, watermelons, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Its availability in the market varies depending on the seasons of the year.

Above a hundred thousand jobs are generated along the value chain, employees work at different stages which include; harvesting, transport of product to packed houses, grading to the standards required by the market and packaging. Technology and expansion of farming areas have made it necessary to acquire skilled, knowledgeable individuals with the ability to run the day to day activities in the fields.

Fresh agricultural food is a source of the primary nutrients required by human bodies for its metabolic processes and builds bodies immunity. Vitamins is derived from fresh farm products such as fruits which are vital for our bodies. Soybean is a primary product of a state and contributes a better proportion of proteins as compared to meat products.

The byproducts of agricultural foods are typically utilized by livestock, for example, pigs take a lot of kitchen waste while cows are provided with the remains from the packed house which include a mix of leguminous products which offers protein essential for growth and development as well milk production. Waste from livestock and fresh produce are typically composted and later mixed with other fertilizer for growing different crops.

The food from the farm is the most reliable source of income for a country. Once you have harvested, you can sell the fresh food to other countries, or you take them to local industries where they will be processed and sold locally or even internationally hence earning the farmers and the government some foreign money.

Technological achievements, methods and new agricultural knowledge have attracted tourist who is interested in acquiring the new techniques. This has generated revenue from royalties paid to the state and from products sold to tourists through customs. There is so much to see in this sector hence making it a tourist attraction.

Most farmers have felt the need to conserve the environment with an increase in farming activities. Currently, irrigation is channeled from dams to the fields during dry seasons. This has been made possible by harvesting rainwater as well as diverting runoff water that would otherwise erode the field reducing its fertility.

Gases such as carbon dioxide from the industries are removed by the plants from the atmosphere hence cleaning the atmosphere. Additional plants serve as windbreakers and blocks dust, furthermore waste from plants are used to create bio-gas which is utilized in cooking and lighting. This has led to significant reduction in destruction of trees and use of fossil fuel that emit harmful gases to the atmosphere.
