Selecting An Office Coffee Service

By Luisa Sharpe

The coffee break is more than just a time to get refreshment. While this alone is important it is also a good time to sit back and relax. As more people choose to eat their lunch by their desk there are fewer times when people actually stop working. Therefore choosing an office coffee service is a very important consideration.

Despite the name companies that offer this kind of service are not just offering this beverage. They could also offer tea, hot chocolate and other types of drinks. They may offer snacks as well, something that can be very useful for employees as they need to keep their energy up throughout the day.

A machine should also be relatively inexpensive to maintain. Some filter machines are very simple and only need basic cleaning. For the simplest operation it is worth looking for machines that can either be quickly rinsed or are dishwasher safe in order to ensure you get the most user friendly device.

The easiest way to do this is to look for more experienced companies. These are the people who will have been offering refreshments to people for many years. Inevitably these will tend to be the companies that get the most positive word of mouth as they adapt to the changing needs of their customers over the years.

Reputation is also vital. A good business will generally get good feedback. If a company is not willing to give testimonials then you ought to be wary. They should be willing to show that customers are happy with what they have to offer. If they are hesitant then a quick search online should give you access to reviews and posts on social media sites to get less biased feedback.

Flexibility is also a key consideration. In recent times it is not enough to offer coffee and tea. Some people want decaf tea and coffee. Other people want hot chocolate while other people may want herbal or fruit tea. There is also the issue of how personal they make the service. Some companies may turn up, make the refreshments and let people stir in their milk or sugar. Others may make more effort and find out who likes two sugars, who likes one and who wants the teabag left in their cup.

It is also important to find out when they can arrive. Ideally you want someone who can come in at a regular time. Inevitably people will need refreshments around the mid morning or afternoon. If you work longer hours or work at night then you may need them to work odd hours so this may affect the kind of companies you can approach.

You should look for at least three companies when choosing a coffee service. This gives you the chance to compare both the cost and the quality of what they have to offer. It is also recommended that you check for feedback from clients that previously used services to help you narrow down the options and choose the ideal one to suit your business and your employees.
