They also have an additional known as meze which includes; a number of appetizers and starters. Mezes are taken with tapas that are mostly sourced from Spain. Most of the high-end hotels will serve clients with the meze which is usually spread on the dishes to serve as a starter. The meze can be taken together with wine, casual meals or ouzo. Meze can also be taken when you are taking bread by dipping the bread into it and placing on side plates.

Every village, country or city in the Mediterranean region has their cuisine that differs from the other cities. The dishes from every area make the cuisine of these people interesting because it has foods from all cultures. The dishes will have substances such as Santorini which will have products such as fava beans, cherry tomatoes, and Assyrtiko grapes. Though most Greeks love meat they ensure that they are taking balanced diets. To complete their diets they ensure that they are taking lots of salads.

Various classic salads in these foods are called the village salad. These salads usually have tomatoes, feta cheese, cucumbers, olive oil, onions and oregano. The village salads are generally endless and very friendly to choose from. Ultimately, traditional meals of the Greeks end with some dessert that cleanses the palate. Most of the desserts in these foods are simple although some are labor intensive. These usually require some degree of skills, particularly when using fastidious phyllo dough.

Decadent pastries and classic sweets for desserts are prepared from very closely guarded secrets passed down to newer generations. In addition, these desserts can be sold as takeaways that are usually contained in boxes made from cardboards having standard weighed packages of the desserts.
